Lyla sighed as she pulled herself out of the tank, sitting down on the bench, in the backroom, she shook her hair out, and took off her tail. Finally, she pulled her hair into a ponytail, and began to put her clothes back on, grabbing her bag from the lockers, and walking out. She was almost out the door, when her boss, Earl called over "Heyy Lyla, don't forget, I need you back her by tonight around 7." Lyla rolled her eyes and sighed, still walking out the door, letting it slam shut behind her, as she jumped into her car, started the engine and sped off towards the beach. Once she got there, she set her towel down and laid out, spreading sun tan lotion on her.

Glenn sat in the sand, legs bent so his elbows could rest on his knees. Boo laid in the warm sand next to him, and Rosie was frolicking in the lazy waves a couple yards away. He chuckled, stroking the younger of his pets affectionately while he watched the other nip at the waves as they slunked backwards toward their deeper counterpart.  

Lyla looked over and noticed a boy. She smiled and got up, walking across the shore. Since, she had really strong will power, she could hold the change from coming. She smiled as some of the waves lapped against her feet.

Glenn turned his head, watching the girl walk a bit curiously. Having a feeling Rosie would make a b-line for her, he whistled his dog back to him. He chuckled as Rosie trotted up to him, shaking out her fur vigorously and showering him with tiny droplets. With a small smiled, he stroked her head, gently  rubbing the edge of her ear in between his fingers. Hearing Rosie, Boo perked his little bent ears lazily and cracked open his eyes a bit.

Lyla watched the dog run over back to it's owner. She smiled. "Nice dogs, what's their names?" She smiled, as she walked over. She bent down low, and watched as Rosie, trotted over to her and licked her. She giggled, and smiled kissing the dog on the head.

"The mini Aussie is Rosie and this little guy is Boo." He said, introducing his pets with a smile. Glenn gave her a discreet once-over and smiled a little. "I'm Glenn." He said, smiling.

Lyla smiled and petted Rosie and Boo, the way dogs liked to be petted. She smiled and looked up "Well, aren't you some cuties" She smiled at the dogs, and smiled again as he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you Glenn, My name's Lyla." She said, as she shook his hand, smiling.

"Nice to meet you Lyla." He said, dropping his hand and returning it to its spot in his pocket. Glenn casually ran a hand through his hair, eyebrows raised. "So what's a girl like you doing at the beach alone?" He asked.

Lyla smiled and pushed a clump of her hair behind her ear. "A girl like me? What exactly do you mean?" She smiled and bit her bottom lip, looking up at him with her baby blue eyes.

"Well, firstly, you're pretty. Secondly, I kind of doubt you'd be able to fight someone odd if the tried to attack you." He stated bluntly, eyebrows furrowing in unmasked concern. Glenn kept an eye on Boo, making sure he stayed in his peripheral vision.

She smiled as he called her pretty and chuckled/giggled as he was really concerned for her. "Well thanks for that compliment, and two, don't underestimate me Glenn, I can handle myself perfectly, Besides, I'm stronger than you think."

"Good. And how come you're out here all by yourself?" She smiled at his little chuckle, looking at the Ocean, feeling the ocean tugg a bit on her mer self. She ignored it, and focused back on Glenn.

"Ohh ok. Where do you work?" She smiled, brushing her hair out of her face, giggling at his last comment. She watched him help the puppy out of the water and smiled.

"I'm just working at a restaurant right now until I finish school. Then I'll probably be a vegetarian." He answered, chuckling.

Arianna smiled as she pulled into the parking lot, right beside Xander's car. She pulled the keys out of the ignition, and got out the car, walking away, clicking the lock button on her car. She pushed a clump of her hair behind her ear. She smiled, as the car alarm blared, signifiying, that her car was locked. She walked in, and smiled as she saw Xander. She always had a crush on him, but she didn't think he felt the same way. He was always seen with that girl, Lyla, she rolled her eyes at the girls name. She set her bags down in the locker, in her office, and put on her coat. She walked into the mian room, spieing Xander. "Hey comrade, fine morning it was. Don't ya say?"

    Xander was by the sea lion tank, greeting its occupants. Two friendly sea lions lived in the large tank. Leo was a lot more dominant that Lilly. Both were each other's siblings. They had been saved on the shore when they washed up when they were pups. They had been too small, and eventually weak, to squirm back into the water. Lilly and Leo were found yards away from each other, clinging to life.

    "'Sup Leo," Xander greeted, bending down and holding out his hand. The sea lion swam up and hopped up onto the ledge he stood on, stooping his head as he lifted up his flipper to lay it on the boy's hand. Xander grinned at the creature and took out a fish from a bucket by his feet, throwing it up in the air for Leo to catch. He did, and hungrily scarfed it down. Afterward, Xander motioned back to the water with his finger, in which Leo followed it and slid back into the water. The sea lions knew the drill. Leo would come up first, get his snack for the mid-morning, then allow Lilly to come up and get hers.

    The sea lion, smaller of the two came up next. Xander smiled at the female and bent over again, putting out his hand. She did the same as Leo without hesitation, then waited patiently for the human to give her her fish. Xander handed her a fish, rather than throwing it. He'd learnt that Lilly wasn't coordinated enough to catch things, since she had a bad eye. "There ya' go, girl," he said quietly, watching her gobble it up. He repeated the same motion as he did with the male and Lilly slid back into the water.

    As he went to turn around after picking up the bucket of fish, he found Arianna walking towards him. He gave a bright smile and nodded, switching the pale over from one hand to the other. "Hey there, Ari," he greeted. "it was a nice morning. Too bad I'm not a particular fan of them, but I will admit this one was nice." He gave a little chuckle, then cleared his throat, moving on to his next subject. "I just finished giving snacks to the sea lions, do you want to help me with the dolphins? They're in need of some exercise today. They need to be played with." There were three dolphins. Two male and one female. All had sustained a certain injury that they were recovering from. Two of the three had been imported from different Sea Worlds, and so were used to human interaction. But the third was rescued from the wild.

Lyla smiled and nodded. Same here. I'm the mermaid dancer at Liberty on the sea.

Ari smiled as she watched him feed the seals. He was always so gentle and patient with the creatures, one of the manny humans that actaully had a gentle side, besides a wrecking and destroying side, like early years before. She laughed as they teased and played with him. Hearing, what they were saying in seal, she giggled to herself. She quickly composed herself, as he saw her. She smiled up at him "I can see that. Sure, I'd be delighted." Even though, she hadn't been here that long, she was still a excellent Marine Biologists, but also it helped when your co-worker, was your crush. She rememebered, first coming to the place, being ignored for a min, she found herself talking to the dolphins and playing with the dolphins. Most of the animals, took a liking to her, he had even asked her once, to get in the water with him. It was always her dream, but because of her secret she couldn't. So he never asked, thinking it was just a simple fear. She brushed her hair behind her ear, and walked into the dolphin exhibit. She smiled waving at the two females Luna and Stella. Followed by them, came Max and Ryan. Max always took a special liking to her, and always challenged Xander for her attenion. "Heyyy guys" she smiled. "How's everyone today?" They all followed after with a series of clicks and coos.
