Eloise quickened her pace, now jogging back towards him until she was right next to him. She pulled the knife out of her pocket, dropping it on the sand next to her feet. "You called?" she said, giving him a half-smile as she glanced at the sky.

Ashton smirked as she threw the knife down beside him. He picked it up and stuffed it into his pocket, pointing up at the sky. "We've got another storm coming. Did you find anything?"

"Yes, I did. And, yes, I've noticed. Be more careful with your leg this time." she said, sitting so he could put an arm around her waist again. Eloise helped him stand slowly again, looking over at him to make sure he wasn't in to much pain.

"I'm sure you noticed." he stuck his tongue out at her and stood up, barely feeling any pain. "Hell if that Ibuprofen isn't working...I feel much better". He dropped his arm from her waist and took slow, careful steps onward. Without falling, his independence was claimed, and he started keeping pace with Eloise. A few drops of rain began to patter on his bare torso, and within seconds, the bottom fell out. It was a downpour, to say the least. 

Eloise sped up, grabbing his wrist and pulling him along until she reached the small cave. Even going a bit faster, she'd managed to get soaked. pulled him inside and sat on the ground. She sighed heavily, glaring outside. "Damn rain." she murmured.

Ashton dropped the suitcase and looked Eloise over. She was soaked. He bit his lip nervously and opened the bag, grabbing a blanket. He wrapped it tightly around her and smiled faintly. "There." he whispered before resting his hands in his lap.

Eloise smiled softly, raising her eyebrows a small amount. "Thank you. Did you see a lighter in any of the bags?" she asked, keeping her eyes out on the rain and the water. Silently, she pushed the piercings in her cheeks out with her tounge, keeping herself occupied.

"Um...yeah." He fumbled around in one of the pockets and found a classical box-lighter, with a stainless steel shell. He handed it to her and lay against of the walls, watching her curiously. "So...tell me about yourself."

Eloise smiled, fiddling a bit with the lighter. "I'm seventeen, a female, and only have one sibling. Shes older than me, married and has a one kid and another on the way. I read book two chapters in a book faster than I do one page of math. I play softball and can play guitar." she said, giving a short laugh. "I'm not good at talking abouit myself. What do you want to know other than that?"

Ashton raised his eyebrows and laughed, shaking his head and sighing. "I never would have guessed the bit about you being a female..." he smiled at her and cracked his knuckles. "Um...do...well, did, you have a highschool crush?"

Eloise wrinkled her nose, smiling. "Yeah, its hard to tell. Y'know, once you see past the boobs... and long hair." she laughed. "And, no, I haven't liked somebody since eighth grade." she added, smiling. She looked at the lighter, lighting it and watching the small flame.

Ashton nodded slowly and looked up at her. "I haven't dated since...ok. I've never dated. In fact..." he sighed and turned away, looking back at the rain, "I've never talked this much for so long with anyone. Ever. I just...I don't know..."

Eloise laughed softly, still watching the tiny bit of fire. "I have never had a real boyfriend, and I don't count going on one or two dates as being boyfriend and girlfriend, but I have dated." she admitted, with her eyebrows raised, looking over at him.

Ashton caught her gaze and kept it, scooting closer to her and resting again. "It's weird...I'd have thought guys were crawling all over you. You're very beautiful...breath taking, even, and your personality is just as amazing. You're beyond perfect. You're something more...I'd kill for that. If I knew any better, I'd have kept to myself...like all the other times." he inhaled slowly and reached for her hand. "I don't want to do that anymore."

Eloise smiled, flicking the lighter closed. "You seem really sweet. I hate that something like this happened before we met, on better circumstances." She sighed, taking his hand. She looked down at the lighter in her lap, twisting it with her free hand.

He squeezed her hand tightly and continued to look at her, even as she turned away. "You're right. But we did meet. And I'm grateful for that." He reached his other hand over and towards her tilted head, gently pressing against her cheek and turning it to look at him.

Eloise looked slightly surprised, but kept her small smile. She blushed softly, and hoped he couldn't feel her cheeks hear up. "I'm glad we met, most definitely." She agreed quietly.

"You're cute when you blush." Ashton whispered, leaning in and tilting his head slightly. He gently pressed his lips to hers, being brief but soft. He inhaled slowly and leaned back out, looking at her. "I'm...I'm sorry..."

Eloise looked shocked, and her smile still settled on her face. "W-why are you sorry?" she asked, laughing and sounding mildly nervous. "I would have done something if I'd cared. Probably hit you, actually. It's fine just a little kiss. It's not like we're rolling around in the sand." She babbled, looking at her hand in her lap again.

Ashton smiled and bit his lip, "That's what I was worried about..." he squeezed her hand again and sighed, leaning his head against the wall. "I don't know if I should count that as my first kiss...does the other person have to kiss you back?"
