Ashton awoke with a start, his torso shooting up and eyes immediately searching the darkness around him for the source of the piercing scream that jolted through his ears. He was rocking in his bed violently, the contents of the cabin crashing against both walls as the scene shifted side to side. He squinted and covered his head as debris began to crash through from the ceiling, and the room suddenly jolted to the left, refusing to balance sides. He fell out of the bed and began sliding through much of the water and debris on the floor towards the open window underneath him. Crashing through a dresser, another bed, and some luggage, he slid out and grabbed tightly to the windowsill on either side of it and holding on for dear life. He heard the scream again, his name being called out, followed by a crack of thunder. "ASHTON! ASHTON, PLEASE?!" "MOM?!" he grit his teeth and tried desperately to climb back into the room, but the slippery state of the glass and the sideways stance of the vessel made any type of upward movement nearly impossible. His hands began to slip, and he yelled out again. "WHERE ARE YOU?!" the screaming was no more, and another clap of thunder replaced it. The realization of the current situation threw his heart from his stomach to his throat, and agony caused him to lose hold and plummet into the blackness that was the Pacific ocean below. He awoke and jolted back into reality, desperately clawing up towards the surface of the water and grabbing tightly to a floating couch. He clung to it and shivered from the cold, shaking violently and blacking out again.

Eloise woke to the sounds of chaos, water rushing into her room and a crack of thunder. After a moment of sitting like an idiot, she bolted upright and grabbed her glasses from the mattress next to her. Through her window she seemingly registered she could hear people splashing into the water, causing her to feel a monstrous surge of panic. "Mom, Dad?!" She shouted, her voice shaking. Hearing no answer from the room joining her own, she hopped up and ran for the sink, searching for something. After finding it, she jammed the small object into her pocket and stumbled as the tilting of the room jostled her. She slipped out onto the windowsill and took her glasses off with a large shaky breath. El looked down at the dark water, she slipped off the sill and fell towards it. The water gave her a shock, leaving her sputtering as she surfaced. Ew, sorry, my Kindle is going to die.

Again, Ashton awoke with a jolt and sat up quickly, moaning as his head began to ache and his legs burned. He cursed to himself and tried to stand, falling back down and letting out a cry of pain as his left leg exploded into a gruesome level of absolutely agonizing hurt. He breathed heavily and dared to steal a glance down, his heartbeat quickening as he spotted a small pillar of wood protruding from his upper thigh. He turned his head away and nearly passed out once more from the pain and dizziness. Realization hit him from many directions. His mother was dead. Ship sunken. He was in an unknown stretch of beach, and lay immobile in the sand. 'Fuck...I have to get this out.' he thought, shaking his head and grabbing the top with both hands. He counted to three quietly and began to yell as he pulled up slowly, dragging the shrapnel out of his thigh and tossing it with shaking hands into the sand beside him. He quickly took his shirt off and tied it tightly around the wound, falling onto his back and continuing to breath rapidly. The pain remained, but its severity subsided, allowing him to sit back up and observe his surroundings. He turned to the left and spotted a large slab of rock, outcropping a beautiful sunny sky that shined over a long stretch of tall pine trees that continued into darkness. He looked right and saw the trees end and a large tidepool frame several smaller rocks, all circled around it. A differentiation of color on the sand caught his eye, and he looked closer to spot a figure laying along the beach. He swore to himself and tried to stand again, standing on his right leg and leaning over to lean on the ground and support his left in the air. Slowly but surely he crawled his way over to the figure in the sand, occasionally standing and hopping before leaning back over and crawling a little. After several minutes of exhaustingly long hops, he plopped down beside the person and slowly rolled them over onto tehir back. A girl. He had seen her previously on the cruise while traveling to the pool. She was absolutely breath taking; a very beautiful girl indeed. He swore again and moved his fingers to check her pulse. He felt none. He leaned over put his ear to our mouth, moving his hand to her chest, but felt no indication of life. He shook his head and quickly scooted back a little, grabbing his leg in pain and pausing, then straightening his arms and beginning to push his hands into her chest, trying to kickstart her heart. 30 tries, and still no breathing. He repeated the set, and began to tear up at the thought of losing another person. This time, at his hands. "C'mon, please wake up...please, you can do it..." he took a deep breath and leaned in, pressing his lips to hers and blowing in.

Sucking in a water breath, Eloise began to cough. She turn quickly on her side, absolutely certain whoever had just revived her would not want water hacked up all over them. After she could breath at least some what properly, having little to no water let occupying her lungs, she turned flat onto her back once again. Eloise allowed her eyes to flutter open her eyes slightly, but squinted against the bright sun. For a moment, she thought about just closing them again and letting herself pass out in the sand, but sat up slowly, finally turning her eyes to the boy next to her. Her eyes swept over him, his face, his arms, then stopped on his leg. Knowing that he has just saved her like he, and while injured at that, she felt a surge of gratitude and mustered all her self-control to keep from throwing her arms around him and thanking him. "Thank you, very much." she finally said softly, returning her eyes to his face for a moment before dropping them to her hands, which were placed in her lap.

He had done it. The girl coughed out the water that had drowned her lungs and killed her, falling and trying to sit up and look at him. He moved back a little and nodded when she thanked him, eyeing her slowly and moving one of his hands to his neck. "Are...are you ok? Are you hurt anywhere?" Ashton asked, looking down at her with wide eyes. The piercing sunlight began to intensify when a cloud passed away from its glare, and the girls reddish brown hair gleamed brightly. Her lively eyes began to lighten and clarify their smooth color, making Ashton's heart skip a beat.

Eloise looked over herself gingerly, noticing she had a few cuts on her hands that were probably where her glasses broke, and it felt like she had a scratch across her cheek, but other than a few scraps and bruises she felt fine. "My hands are a bit cut up and I have a good amount of bruises, but I'll live. But... your leg." she said, flicking her eyes to it. After a second she felt tears well up in her eyes, but she refused to the them fall, blinking quickly. "I was dead. I was dead. You..." she trailed off, her voice stronger than before but still quiet. Then, without warning, she did throw her arms around his neck, although careful not to hurt him in any way.

"Alright...I guess that's good news." he nodded in response and sighed, looking down at it with her. "It's not that bad. Just making me a little dizzy is all." he winced as she began relating to what had happened, making his body tingle in surprise. He couldn't believe he'd done it either. She then quickly threw her arms around him, causing him to fall back in surprise and half lay in the sand with her on top of him. He managed to laugh a little and rub her back, actually smiling. "I'm Ashton, by the way..." (OOC= I'm playing some type of game with the family, so apologies for any dullness)

Eloise untagled her arms from around his neck and sat back on the sand. "Eloise, I'm Eloise." she answered, her voice completely back to its normal volume. After a second, she turned her lips up into a weak half-smile and tried to look somewhat like she believed what he'd said about his leg. She was fairly sure it would need some sort of medical attention, which they had no way of getting. Despite how calm she was, she felt completely panicked. She had no idea if her parents were okay, and whether or not anyone would ever find them. "I hate feeling helpless." she murmured, biting her tumb nail gently.

"Eloise? That's a very beautiful name." he said awkwardly, cursing to himself for such a stupid reply. "I do to...I still can't believe all of this really happened. I just can't." he shook his head and sighed, looking at their surroundings again and trying to pick the direction in which they should head first. Then he spotted a masse' of bags a few dozen yards down, along with some furniture from the vessel. He motioned toward them and had an idea, "Some of the bags made it. Maybe your parents could have landed and already taken shelter somewhere." he murmured, "but...you'll have to help me walk." He motioned to his leg and smiled, "After all, I'm a crippled."

Eloise smiled, flicking her eyes toward where he motioned to. Then she took his arm and placed it around her waist, carefully standing up with him. "Good enough?" she asked, looking over at him. "Mr.Gimpy?" she added, teasingly. (Eh, excuse my sleepy post.)

Ashton winced as pain shot through his leg, caused by the new burden he put on it. He grit his teeth together and tightened his grip on her waist as they took a step, then another. Each movement was like a knife stabbing at the wound over and over again, with no mercy. What was 20 steps seemed like miles. They made it to the pile of luggage, and he began to slip in and out of consciousness, letting out a sort of growl due to the overload of nerves screaming at him to stop. "It hurts...so....fucking...much...."

Eloise made a face, slippinmg him down into the sand slowly. "Well, its not going to feel good." she said softly, sitting next to him. "Okay, no more walking for you unless it absolutely nescessary. We might need to find shade soon." she added.

Ashton shook his head and sighed, slowly slipping back into reality. "Yes...there might be some caves around that tidepool.." he pointed behind him and smirked. "We could camp out there. But first, we need food and water...and Ibuprofen..." he murmured, grabbing a bag and searching through its contents. Nothing. He grabbed another and raided it, finding a package of 32 bottled waters, and a knife. He set them down beside him and searched the outer pockets. Jackpot. He pulled out several bottles of Ibuprofen, Zantax, and Tums. He quickly popped 2 Ibuprofen in his mouth and swallowed. "Thank God..."

"Well, I'll go look. Don't... crawl anywhere. I gues you shoud keep searching all the bags. If I find anything I'll come back and get you." she said, standing. Eloise looked down at him, slightly reluctant to be alone in the unknown area, but then turned and walked toward the tidepool.

"Wait!" He shouted before she got out of audible range, turning to him. "Remember...you're too pretty to die." he tossed the knife to her and smiled, turning back around and going through the bags again. Why am I so bad with girls? Ugh...

Eloise smiled and rolled her eyes, catching the knife. "I'm sure anything wanting to kill me will take that into account." she said sarcastically over her shoulder. After reaching the tidepool, she began looking around carefully, the knife now in her back pocket. She sighed, pushing her hair put of her face. Then, she found what she was looking for. It was a small spot, probably just barely big enough to fit three people and therefore big enough for the two of them, that looked as if water kept a comfortable distance when the tide was in. Quickly, Eloise turned and walked swiftly back towards Ashton.

Ashton's search proved successful, and he managed to find enough canned rations to last several weeks. Hopefully their rescue would come sooner than that. He stuffed the food into an empty bag and grabbed a handful of clothes and blankets, creating a bag with essentially everything they needed. Almost immediately, the lighting around him darkened. He frowned, and didn't feel the heat on the back of his neck anymore. "Awh hell..." he looked up slowly and saw that the sky had darkened significantly. Another storm was brewing. Turning around, he yelled for Eloise.
