So, on my birthday I decided to wish for more ducklings. Not just any ducklings, my baby's, babies. From the moment we got ours, I wished for the mates to be the way they are now, because they would be calico ducklings. Well, yesterday, my dad only put up the boys and one of the girls. My little Noodles was missing. He got a flashlight, and it turns out that Noodles is nesting. At that point, the eggs were to far along to take. We went through the options, and we knew we couldn't kill the babies. So, we decided to let Noodles hatch them and see what happens. We were expecting there to be 4-5 eggs, 8 at the most. When Noodles was off the nest eating today, I counted the eggs. (didn't touch them or the nest) Turns out there are at least 15 I can see. Nice going Noodles and Lucky. Turns out my birthday theme was perfect.. (the Hunger Games) The odds really are in my favor. Let's just hope at least two eggs hatch. If so, I'm going to be a grandmother. Can't wait to tell the daycare kids. They freak out when I talk about being a mom, and lets not even talk about the reaction from a few of my friends. Mwa ha ha! | |
