It got cut off.

Savannah sighed. "Oh.," was all she could say before she turned her head away, looking out to the lake that stretched ahead of them. Listening to the waves ripple gently, she remembered why she was out here. "I sleep wherever.," she replied in a slight whisper voice. looking down at her feet. She was afraid to make eye contact. "So, Tobias....hello, I guess.," she mumbled, feeling awkward to full extent. Boy, was she great at communicating, but, then again, who could blame her?

I saw. -.-

Tobias shifted his gaze so he, too, was looking at the lake. He moved closer, now standing right beside her. "Why don't you stay at the shack sometime? I like the trees better. At least I have the advantage of being so high off the ground." He grinned slightly. "I fear that I'm turning into Katniss, maybe even Peter Pan." He seemed amused by his own lame attempt at a joke. He shrugged, loosing his shoulder muscles. "A pleasure to meet you Savannah."

xD I tried to respond with what I had. It's okay!

Savannah's hair stood up on her arms as Tobias came closer to her. She breathed out in a bit of shock at the suggestion. Dear god, who only knows with boys and their thoughts. She thought, looking up at him, unsure whether to move back or stay there. For now, she stayed, blankly staring up at him. "Uh, well, I suppose. I'm not used to invites like this.," she managed to say with a nervous chuckle before stepping back once more and bumbping into another tree and nearly flying forwards as soon as she hit it, placing her hands on his chest in pure reaction. Once she realized what she had done there, she flew back into the tree. Flushed in the face, she shook her head. "I'm sorry.," she nearly trembled as she spoke in a whisper of embarrassment.

XD

Tobias grinned. "I don't usually have people to invite, so it was a little awkward for me too."  He turned his head to follow her movements, a hint if curiosity in his eyes. He felt almost as if she'd pushed him, but she realized she was trying to steady herself. He looked down at her hands, but when he caught glimps of them she tugged away. He chuckled, "Slim it. It's cool." He gave a smile, trying to calm her down. "I'm not gonna hit your or anything for touching me, it no big deal." He turned his attention back to the lake.

Savannah nodded with another nervous laugh. "Right, right. I suppose I'm just a little too crazy right now.," she said, slightly shaking as she keaned against the tree. With a sigh, she felt a question coming up in her throat. "Um, you don't happen to have anything to eat, do you?" Asking with a small frown, she hoped he'd be generous to give a crazy girl some food. Once she asked the question, she looked out at the lake, it seemed to be the serenity in this situation. Something to keep your mind on to ease the other stuff. Or just a go-to for when you didn't want to make eye contact because you were so weird. Yeah, it was probably the last one that made Savannah glance out at the lake like that. Her stomach grumbled and she put her hand over it to hopefully ease the sound. Obviously it wasn't working, and Savannah sighed with more embarrassnent.

Tobias glanced at her a few times before nodding. "Yeah, but it's at the shack." He instantly regretted telling her where it was. "But I can get it and bring it back to you, if you want." He added quickly. He didn't want to scare her away and that's exactly what it felt like he was doing. He let his eyes fall to the ground, where he kicked brown and red leaves into the air.

"Uh, I suppose I could go in. I'm kind of curious about this shack.," Savannah quickly stated, knowing she was making a fool out of herself and making Tobias feel like he was making her feel that way, when he wasn't. She was just generally nervous around people because she was used to an animal presence rather than this. Slowly she stepped forward, closer to Tobias, motioning him to show her the way. She hoped he would, because even though she was still scared out of her mind, she wanted to give him a chance.

Tobias smiled slightly. "Okay, just follow me." He started walking, 'Way to state the obvious, stupid.' He thought while rubbing the back of his neck. A half an hour later, they stood in front of a moss covered door. "Here we are." He smiled sarcastically and pushed open the door. The shack was dimly lit, with leather furniture scattered about and a television - which obviously didn't work. He led her down a small hall into the kitchen. It held a table, refrigerator, an oven and a sink. "It's not much, but at least I'm safe."

Savannah gasped at the sight of the small shack. "It's like a mansion compared to the outdoors I've been living in for years!" Savannah exclaimed with a smile. "Do you have a bed?" She quickly asked, glancing around. Don't get too ahead of yourself, Sava. He probably sleeps on the couch. Though I haven't slept in a bed for so long. It would be nice if he did have one. She thought to herself. Right now, with all that he had, she wondered how he got it all, so she remained completely baffled for a moment until her stomach grumbled again.

Tobias threw open the refrigerator door. "I don't know how well of a cook I am, but I can make ya' something." He looked through the refrigerator. It consisted of raw meat and apples. He chuckled at the bed comment, "Yeah, it was here when I found this place. Everything was - except for the food. I got that myself. But I did clean up the furniture. It's safe to sit and sleep on. Promise." He motioned her over to the refrigerator, then rested his shoulder against the wall. He watched her silently, curiously.

"Oh.," Savannah said lightly to his answer. "You didn't make this place? I thought you did.," she said with a small smiled, then nodding to his offer. "I suppose. Only if you want to. Otherwise I could try?" She suggested with a shrug of the shoulder. Her curiousity kicking in to explore every nook and cranny of the strange little tree house. Shelter felt nice to be in for once. It was different, but obviously it was nice to be in. It was warm and cozy, and you at least felt slight protection from the outside world, but yet, she still was so used to it.

"You're the lady, it's your choice." He moved from his position on the wall and grabbed a cherry from a bowl on the table, which hadn't been noticeable before. "Want one?" He didn't wait for an answer. He tossed two to her while munching on his own. "There were seed packets in the cupboard." He explained. "There's a little garden thing in the back - tomato plants, apple trees, cherry trees, corn stalks. All kinds of stuff. Even pumpkin, you like that junk? I don't. Not unless it's in a pie. Speaking of a pie, I havent had one since I was eight pr nine - do you like pie? Oh, hey, maybe we could make one! That'd be real co-" He suddenly shut up. "Sorry. I talk a lot." He rubbed the back of his neck like he'd done so many times in the short time he'd known her.

Savannah smiled, listening to him talk. "Don't worry.," she said gently after he apologized. "All those things sound great. I'll try it with you sometime.," she added with a nod, grabbing the two cherries, popping them in her mouth like candy and gladly munching on them. "I would talk to if I haven't talked to a person in years, but the strange thing is, I'm not. I have to warm up to you, but I'm starting to.," she admitted with a slight blush, looking down at her toes as she wiggled them around. "You're quite a nice man.," she giggled softly, looking back up with a smile she was obviously trying to hide, but also obviously wasn't working for her.

Tobias grinned goofily when she talked. "And you're quite a nice lady." He tried to play it cool and not show he was bouncing around on the inside, and he played it off quite well. "So, a tour of the house should be given. Right?" He walked back to the hall, then into the room which they had first entered and waited for her. "This, is where I spend most of my day. The tv doesn't work," He said glumly but quickly perked back up. "The couch and love seat are really comfortable, so it the futon. The room we just left was the kitchen, our kitchen I guess, and all I do is fry up the raw meat in the animal's fat since we don't have a Walmart nearby. Other than that, I've never cooked or baked or whatever." He shoved his hands in his pockets, nodding to a wooden stair case. "And then there's the upstairs."

Savannah was overwhelmed with all the utilites and things she hadn't seen in a long while. With a huge urge to, Savannah plopped down on the couch, and without realized, dropped her jaw at the comfort that it brought to her. "Oh, my, god.," her voice uttered as she sprawled out on the couch with delight. Once he motioned towards the stair case, she popped her head straight back up. "An...upstairs?" She repeated as if Tobias was joking. "You mean to tell me.....?" She didn't have to say more. Jumping up from the couch she went over to the steps and hastily climbed to the top, peaking over the top to the bedroom. "Wow!" Her muffled voice chirped from the upstairs as her torse and legs still stayed planted on one of the steps. "It's beautiful!" She exclaimed, popping her head back down to make eye contact with Tobias. It was easier to do this now because she was slowly feeling better of being with another person.

Tobias watched her silently, a smile planted on his lips. He followed her up the stairs, then touched her elbow, urging her forward. "Come on, there's a bathroom too." He walked down the hall to the bedroom, pushing the door open wider. "This is the bedroom obviously, which you can sleep in. I'll stay on the futon." He then nodded to the door just beside the stairs, it was only opened enough to see a shower. "That's the bathroom, running water and everything."

Savannah couldn't take it, she grabbed him and shook him furiously "How come I only just met you today when I have been wanting this stuff for years!" Savannah's squeaky voice side came out as she was overly excited. "You-you can go make food, and, do you mind if I take a shower here?" She asked nervously stepping back and scratching her head with a small smile. Oh how she wanted to get fully clean instead of using the rivers and lakes once a week. Plus if you wanted to get good and clean, you had to strip, and there was no privacy in a lake or river so you also had to watch out, but now, she could finally have privacy!

Tobias chuckled, poking her cheek. "Go ahead little missy. Dinner will be waiting on you." He grinned like an idiot while he made his way down the stairs.
