(( Pretty sure I saw somebody singing Les Mis as I was skimming through the pages, looking for a reply to my character. XD Les Mis has beaaaautiful music. IT ALSO MAKES ME CRY HOT TEARS OF MANLINESS. )) Lark Karrth He let out a scoff, thinking to himself. My family? Worried sick about me and Hewie? As if. They don't care about anything except for alcohol and money. Upon Alaska pointing at the stool, Lark nodded quietly and sat on it as directed. It was kind of amazing, the cooks just cooking food and being friendly to each other. Like a giant, big cooking family. Lark had remembered the route to get into the palace. As he sat on the stool, he memorized the layout of the kitchen. Tonight. Maybe tonight I can raid this place. "How long have you been cooking for?" Lark asked Alaska quietly, just to start up a conversation. He watched as she prepared the meal so skillfully. Lark was impressed.

Marina sat on the corner of the bench with her legs crossed. She leaned back, putting her weight one of her wrists. Her fingers tapped the marble softly, making soft padding noises.

(Oh God I can't even with Les Miserables. It makes me so emotionally unstable and just Eponine and Jean Valjean and everyone and just Gavroche and just asdfghjkl) Kaito tapped his fingers and looked at the two when a guard came running quickly into the garden. He was panting and trying to catch his breath while saying. The queen. . . something's. . . horribly wrong. . . with her. She can't breath. . . and she's half concious. . . and there's swelling. Kaito didn't waste anytime for him to finish and he stood and took off into the palace. He ran up the stairs and to Lavinia's room. There were people crowded inside and a doctor standing over her. Kaito ordered everyone out except for the doctor and looked at the doctor. What's wrong?! He pratically yelled. The doctor looked at Lavinia worriedly. A bee sting. She's-- Kaito cut her off. Allgeric I know! He went into one of her drawers and pulled out an epi-pen. He stabbed it into her thigh and held it there for 10 seconds. Lavinia took in a deep breath when he pulled it out and started shaking. She cried softly and Kaito put an arm over her shoulder and whispered comforting things in her ear. The doctor looked relieved and left. Alaska hummed as she worked, preparing the noddles and sticking stuff inside. As long as I can remember. My mom was a really good cook. She said as she continued to work. Even though she was a vegetarian, so always made these for me. She smiled at the memory. A few of the cooks watched Lark with some interest. Bertha called to Alaska. I hope your making those to feed that boy. He looks to skinny. Alaska nodded and continued working.

(( Eponine. Oh gosh, I don't think I"ve ever felt such sympathy for a character. Gaah, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables is my favorite song, next to Who Am I, Look Down, and the song that the people sing at the inn (I forget the name). )) Lark Karrth "Your mom sounds like a nice person," he commented honestly. "You must be lucky, to have a great cook as your mother. You'd get to eat amazing food all the time, I bet." A smile broke out from Lark's face, as he held back a laugh. "When I was younger, my mother was an awful cook. She would burn everything, and I bet if I weren't there to turn off the stove, she would burn the water, too." And then once I grew older and she started drinking, she started burning her life instead of food. Lark's face disappeared at the bitter thought. He then looked over at the woman, who had noted on how skinny he was. Lark frowned. "I'm not that skinny. I'm just... Closer to the underweight side." Then again, Lark hadn't properly weighed himself in several, several years. To be properly sure, his clothes were certainly looser than they had been before he came to this place... Looking down at his body, Lark finally noticed, he was indeed pretty skinny. Scrawny. ... Hewie isn't this skinny. He likes to get food for himself, never with me. But... I don't think he's as unhealthy as I am. That's good.

(MASTER OF THE HOUSE! IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE OH MY FREAKIN GOD THAT'S LIKE MY FAVORITE) Alaska nodded. I was lucky. She said and started on the marinara meat sauce. She looked at him, noticing his smile. She smiled softly, then frowned when his smile disappeared. When he spoke to Bertha, Alaska looked at him up and down and shook her head. Nope. You're pretty skinny. There's no question to it. She said and a few minutes later the food was done. She put it in a bowl and covered it with sauce and handed it to him with a fork. Eat up. So, what were your parents like? She asked, jumping up on the counter and gently swinging her feet. Bertha scolded her for sitting on the counter but Alaska ignored her.

(( Master of the House is fantastic! YES! That's it. I think people overlook it because it's not all WHAM, in your face like I Dreamed A Dream, but it's definitely one of my favorites. )) Was? Lark noticed how she enunciated the was. Perhaps it was due to her being in Wonderland? Or... Was her mother dead? Lark would inquire her about it later. "I know I'm skinny, but I can't help it," he muttered under his breath after Alaska added her input on how scrawny he was. Lark took the food and thanked her. Holding the bowl, he blew on the wisps of steam swirling from the food. "My parents?" he thought about them, before taking a bite. His face immediately lit up. "This is amazing!" he complimented Alaska, before wolfing down some more of the food. It had been so long since he last ate, the meal tasted like Heaven. After a few seconds, he slowed down his eating so he wouldn't choke. "... My parents. They used to be great," he said, looking at Alaska. "We used to have such a fun time together. Then, my father began cheating on my mother. My mother, well, she didn't want to believe that he was cheating on her, so she started drinking her sorrows away rather than confront him about it. Dad eventually walked out on my brother and I, and my mother was too drunk to care about us." Lark paused to eat a bit more. After he swallowed, he continued. "I took care of my brother, Hewie, until we got kidnapped." Lark shrugged his shoulders. "And there's my sob story for you." Eating a bit more, he pointed the fork casually at Alaska. "So, teach me some history about yourself."

Glad to hear you like it! Alaska smiled when he complimented her food. Her smile disappeared and Alaska looked at him, trying to hide the pity in her eyes. She stopped kicking her feet. I'm sorry to hear that, Jonas. She said quietly, using the fake name he gave her. She debated whether or not to tell him about herself, then she decided that he told his so she might as well tell her's. My mom was sort of like a hippie, smoking pot and all vegaterian and everythin'. Which was cool. It's wasn't like she would go into storming rages while high off of pot. It could of been worse drugs. She said. My dad was total Republican/lawyer type. I loved then, they loved me and they really did love each other, despite how different they were. When I was seven, after my mom and I came home from the zoo and I was upstairs in my room, my dad was at work, and my mom was in the kitchen, I heard her scream, and I came downstairs to find her spazzin' out on the floor. I started cryin' and screamin', not knowing what to do. I was panicin'. . . I should've called 911, but by then, she had stopped moving, and I thought that what had had happened to her stopped and she was just taking a nap to recover. I sat with her for hours before my dad came home, and he started yellin' at me and tried to do CPR on her but by then it was to late. Aneurysm. That's what she had. She paused for a moment. I'll never stop blamin' myself for that, and for a couple of days after her death, my dad blamed me too. I don't think he ever really stopped blamin' me. A year ago, I fell into a coma because of a car accident. I eventually disappeared into here. She shrugged.

Lark Karrth "... I'm sorry about your mother," he said quietly, looking at Alaska. At least he knew his parents were alive. Alaska's mother was... Well, no longer with them. "It wasn't your fault, you know. I would have done the same thing if I were you." Lark noticed Hewie walk into the room. The little boy seemed to have eaten something. However, Lark also noticed nobody else seemed to take mind to the younger sibling. Was it that Hewie was too short for anybody to see him? "I arrived here after the old guy who kidnapped my brother and I took Hewie somewhere. I don't know where he took Hewie, but he took Hewie to another place. He told me that he'd make me feel such sorrow that even breathing is difficult." Lark finished off the meal. "I went three weeks, not knowing where Hewie was, until finally, I just went to sleep and popped up here. After around a year of living here, Hewie found me. And... Now you're up to date. I wonder, why are we here, in Wonderland?" Lark looked around, until he realized that Hewie had disappeared once again. He stood up from the stool, the empty bowl and fork in hand. "Thank you so much for the meal," he said gratefully. "What should I do with the bowl?"

Alaska furrowed her eyesbrows, taking the bowl and throwing it into the nearest sink. Where is your brother now? She asked curiously, trying to get her mind off of her mother. She tapped her fingers on the counter. (Sorry it's a bad post I'm cleaning right now)

(( Haha, that's okay. )) Lark Karrth He blinked. "Well, you see, Hewie likes going off on his own every now and then. He's a bit shy around other people." Lark then nodded his head, brushing some dust off of his pants. "Well, I should probably head home now. I don't want my brother to worry." He hesitated before asking, "Will you please show me the way out?"

Alaska nodded. Of course. And if you're ever hungry again, just look for me. She said and hopped off the counter. She led him out of the kitchen, skipping once again. So, what's your brother like, besides being shy? She asked, taking the hair net out of her hair and letting her hair fall down past her shoulders. How old is he? She asked curiously to start up conversation. She ran an absent hand through her hair to get rid of the knots.

Lark Karrth "I'll keep that in mind," he said quietly, following Alaska out of the kitchen. Lark thought about Hewie for a little bit. "Well, he's... Short. About this tall." He held a hand up to just below his chest. "Hewie would be... ... Around twelve now. But he looks a lot younger, like he's seven." Lark had a bright tone in his voice. Being reminded of Hewie always lifted his mood. He obviously loved his younger brother and cared for him like a lion protecting its food. "Hewie's upbeat and happy. He's afraid of heights." Lark thought for a little bit more. "... He's just... ... I don't want anything bad to happen to him." He then looked at the ground, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

Marina has rushed up after Kaito. She stood silently in the doorway after everyone had been ushered out. Staying still and trying not to intrude, she spoke softly "Miss, do you need anything?" Biting her lip, she stood unmoving while waiting for an answer.

Member Posts: 1783 | Alaska smiled. "He sounds adorable." She nods in agreement. "If I had any siblings, I wouldn't want anything to happen to them either. But I was an only child. My mom had pregnant once when I was five, but she lost the baby." She shrugged and a maid walked by. "Did you hear that something happened to the queen?" She asked. Alaska shook her head. "She got stung by a bee and nearly died." // Lavinia shook her head. "I just want to be alone." Kaito nodded and stood and walked out.
