Lark Karrth

Upon hearing a voice, he lifted his head, only to see a woman with green eyes and blonde hair. She was talking to him, and although he wasn't truly listening, he understood she wanted to know who he was talking to. Lark blinked a few times. Couldn't she see the adorable little boy just standing there?

When Lark turned his head to see Hewie, the boy was gone. That little rascal, playing tricks again. The thief let out a sigh, standing up, looking dully into the green eyes of the girl. He was taller than her, possibly by about four inches, which made him feel superior, even in the slightest. "Well, I was talking to my younger brother," he corrected the girl, rolling his eyes at her. There was some sort of accent in her voice, but it was extremely faint. Perhaps it was a... Southern accent? Lark wasn't quite sure- he'd never heard one before. "So, I suppose you live your life by walking through the streets and poking your nose into other peoples' conversations? ... Sounds fun." There was a sarcastic tinge on that last bit, the words injected with hard venom. 

Alaska ignored the venom in his tone and smiled a toothy grin at him. Why, yes I do. It's make life more fun and interesting. I love poking my nose into other people's business. She looked at the purse and looked back at him. Speaking of poking your nose where it doesn't belong, I don't suppose that purse is yours? You don't really seem like the kind of man that would hold such an item. She said with a grin. She shrugged though. None of my business, but you didn't happen to have stolen that purse, now did you? She said, the grin never leaving her face, and her green eyes never losing their bright, shiny glow to them. 

Marina smiled and walked her towards the meeting room. She stopped at the doors and did a small curtsy-like move dispite her lack of dress. " Here you are miss." she said.

The thief looked at the purse, then back at the girl. Who did this lady think she was? "No, this purse is my beloved," he said in a drawn-out, high-pitched voice, holding it close to his face and stroking it with his long, thin fingers. "I carry it around with me wherever I go! I put my lipstick in it, my jewelry, my toiletries..."

Lark's face turned gravely serious, looking at the stranger as if she were an idiot, which he did consider her to be. "Really? You really think I stole it? What would ever make you think that?" Again came the sarcastic tone, and the rolling of eyes. "It's called making a living, genius. People have to eat and, well, shocker, I'm actually a person." He made an expression of false alarm, raising his hands up in a mocking manner.

"So," Lark finally spoke, putting his hands down and very nearly glaring at the stranger with his hazel eyes. "Who are you, to be throwing all these questions at me? I don't believe you have such authority. I mean, unless the Queen got some magical plastic surgery, I'm sure you're nobody." 

Alaska didn't lose her smile. I am nobody, and I'm proud of it. Everyone knows me, but they don't know me. They hear me sing, they hear me scream nonsense, and they see me running around the city, but they don't bother to get to know me, and I'm fine with that. I'm just known as that girl. And I wasn't trying to show authority over you anyways. I was just asking a simple question. She said. 

Kaito muttered a "Finally" and looped his arm with Lavinia's. Lavinia dipped her head. Thank you for showing me the way. She said softly. Kaito dipped his head to her. 

Marina bit her tounge, she heard Kaito's mutter. Wow, polite for an Adivser. she thought in a whisper, even though it was in her head. "Anytime Your Majesty." she said was she turned and walked away. She didn't even bother to acknowledge Kaito, she had a feeling he could be trouble.

Kaito took Lavinia inside the meeting and shut the large doors. Lavinia sat at the head of the table, fidgeting nervously. Kaito placed a calming hand on her shoulder and she seemed to calm down a bit. The Nobles spoke for about an hour, and Kaito mostly spoke for Lavinia. When they were done, Lavinia thanked them and quickly left with Kaito.

Alaska didn't lose her smile. I am nobody, and I'm proud of it. Everyone knows me, but they don't know me. They hear me sing, they hear me scream nonsense, and they see me running around the city, but they don't bother to get to know me, and I'm fine with that. I'm just known as that girl. And I wasn't trying to show authority over you anyways. I was just asking a simple question. She said.

The thief looked at the stranger, raising an eyebrow. Okay, this chick was not normal. Far from it. Had her sanity snapped already? It certainly seemed like it. "Well, if you're nobody, you at least have a name, right? Unless your name is actually 'That Girl'. In that case, hello, 'That Girl'." Now Lark's interest had been piqued. He spoke with less of a harsh tone, however his eyes were still cold. "So what do you do for a living, That Girl? You don't seem like a thief. You're a bit too... .... I don't know. Flambouyant?"

He scoffed, looking at Alaska like she had four thousand heads. "A cook for the palace? Isn't that tiring? Doing the same thing, just cooking, five days a week?" Lark leaned against the wall of a building, crossing his arms. "Sounds like a waste of time to me."

He was pondering whether he should tell this cook his name or not. After all, she worked for the palace. Anything could slip out, that she found a pick-pocketing thief who's been on the run for years. And if she were to slip even a name, that would narrow down the amount of suspects greatly. 

Then again, she worked for the palace. He could get friendly with her, get to her house, visit her at work and bam- The palace is missing some valuable vases or jewelry, and he's a million times richer. All of these thoughts flowed through his head, until finally, his inner fighting selves compensated.

"My name is... Jonas Nulle," Lark finally replied, looking at the stranger. He was an exceptional liar, it's a shame he isn't an actor. "Now your name. Tell me it." 

Marina had gone back to wandering. She ran a hand through her curlly locks and looked around. Oh god. I think I'm lost this time. she thought.

Marina kept walking, not really caring if she knew the halls she was walking down. She rolled her long sleeves up to her elbows and looked around as she walked.

Alaska Young. Huh. She just walked into a whole boat of trouble. "So you're saying my lifestyle is bad?" he questioned her, frowning a bit. Sure, it wasn't the best way to live, but she didn't have to put it like that. "... Alright then."

All of the talk about food reminded Lark of something- Being a thief and constantly on the run meant few meals, and Lark hadn't eaten since the morning before. He felt his stomach rumble a bit, and hoped Alaska hadn't heard it. 

"Sounds... Delicious," he said, honestly. 

Marina jumped slightly,cursed and turned around. "You scared me." she said before she answered with a simple "Yes."

... So she heard it. He blinked a bit, surprised at her offer, only to have his stomach growl more in response. "... I don't look like hell. I look like this everyday. I look normal." He nearly glared at her in response, but his stomach growled a third time, even louder. Lark then submitted to the hunger, and nodded his head slowly, looking away. "... ... Trying some would be pleasant... I mean, I have to stay alive." 

Marina put a hand on her hip and raised an eyebrow. Just raising her eyebrow made her pretty amber eyes look larger. "Do I look like I know?" she asked, then realized her disrespect. "Sir." she added.
