Nicholas:

He made an attempt to nod through the wheezing and gasping when Sutton asked him if he had forgotten his inhaler. How had Nicholas been so stupid to forget it? He usually had it in his pocket. Apparently, he forgot it in his other pants. Gasping for air, Nicholas looked at the inhaler that Sutton had. At first, he refused to take it. He would never take help from some sort of girl that he hadn't met before! When he realized he needed it, he took it from Sutton's hand and quickly took a puff. Then a second. When he was able to breathe normally, he gave it back. He stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Thanks," he said quietly, kind of embarrassed that he had to accept help from somebody. Brushing some hair out of his eyes, he glanced at Sutton from his view of the floor. "I guess you sort of saved my life. Sort of. Just a little."

Sutton She looked towards him once more. "Your welcome." She shrugged. "I've had a asthma attack before, I know how vulnerable you can feel." She said while stuffing the inhaler back into her small over the shoulder bag. She looked down the hallway, followed by a long staircase. "Let's keep walking?" She suggested, starting to walk down the long hallway.

Estelle:

I shruged. "I miss my friends a little," I said. "I have no boyfriends or exes, and..." I hesitated. I never told people that I was in foster care before, but I really liked Matt and felt as if I could trust him. Though, I averted my eyes when I said it, "And I'm in foster care so I really don't have a family to miss." I closed my eyes after I said it. Like I said, I don't tell people that I'm a foster kid....

Matt His eyes widened slightly, that had to be hard. To tell someone you hardly knew that you had been in foster care. That had to be a touchy subject for anyone to talk about. You really had to trust someone to tell then that. Then a strange thought crossed his mind, she already trusted him. That somewhat warmed his heart, and a flop sided grin threatened it's way onto his face. He saw her sad expression and he wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "You okay?" He asked curiously, looking down at her.

Estelle:

That moment made me feel as if I wasn't trapped inside of a haunted house. "I'm okay. It's just that....I've never told anyone about that, ever." I said and blinked back strange tears. "Why tears? Why now?" I mentally asked myself. Suddenly, I felt icey cold and moved closer to Matt. I knew something was going to happen I just didn't know what.

Nicholas:

"Vulnerable isn't quite how I would describe it," he said quietly, trying to keep his dignity of being the only man in the group. He then nodded. "Yeah, let's continue walking." He walked after her, wondering how long the hallway would go on for. He reached the staircase, then touched the rail lightly. "Wait a second," he said, looking at the steps with thought. "We should test out the steps first. I don't know how old they are, and if they break while somebody is walking on them... Well, it wouldn't be pretty. And look, there's a hole in the ground underneath all of the stairs. I don't know where that hole leads to." He looked around for something to put on there. Not able to see anything he would able to pick up easily like a rock, he knew that if he put a table on there, a table might be heavier than the person. "I think I'll go test the staircase. I probably weigh more than all of you because, well, I'm taller and males typically weigh more than females. If I can get up to the top, then I'm pretty sure you guys can." Oh look, he thought bitterly. I'm getting myself into more trouble. Again. He began to climb the stairs. The first three steps let out awful moans that made him hesitate before going on. He lightly stepped on the next few steps, climbing upwards. He continued to walk, until he reached the fifteenth step. Now he was well ahead of the others, who were on the flat floor. He lightly put one foot on the next step, before jumping back as the polished wood creaked and broke, leaving a black, gaping hole that led to to the enormous abyss of black underneath the stairs. Gulping for some needed strength, he continued walking. The staircase was very, very long and had to turn at a corner. Once he turned, the step he was standing on broke, and he would have fallen if he hadn't hastily dashed onto the next step. He watched with wide eyes as the boards of wood fell into the sea of darkness. Continuing forward, several steps broke as he walked, but he made it to the second floor in one piece. With a sigh, he called out, "Alright. Come on ahead. Watch out for the places where the steps broke."
