"Hey." Agnes snapped. Kate hung the phone up. She'd called Sirius' number again to hear him in the voicemail message. Going out on her own to hunt the mutt had seemed like the right thing to do. The pack was driving her crazy with their concern. But being alone was so... lonely. When she was hunting it was fine but those quiet moments in the hotel room made her lunge for her phone to look at pictures of them or listen to his voicemail to drown out her own thoughts. What if she had been quicker to go looking for him? What if she had followed him on his run? What if. What if. What if. She went to dial it again but her finger paused briefly. Instead she picked another number. Remus' number. Logan had been the one to call him to explain what had happened. She hadn't been able to. However she wanted any connection left to her mate now. It didn't occur to her until it started ringing how late it would be for him in London. | |
