She blushed when Robb told her good morning and quietly greeted him in return. She didn't exactly have a crush on him but he was handsome... Sansa either didn't notice her friend's behavior or was nice enough not to mention it. She sat down next to Jeyne and shooed Robb off when he began to sit down so Zoe could sit on her other side. | |

While Robb was dismissive of it, he did get into the competition. Jeyne would gasp whenever the lances hit the person and feel a bit of panic whenever someone fell. Everything was pretty uneventful, at least until about halfway through the matches. That was when Gregor, Sandor's enormous brother, entered the arena. He was nearly eight feet tall and made his war horse look like a pony. He was going against a young man who had never entered a tournament before which seemed rather unfair. | |

Robb frowned slightly, thinking it was unfair, but there wasn't much he could do other than watch as the match started. When the lance hit the young man it rode up and struck him in the throat, killing him instantly. He fell not ten feet from Zoe, Robb, Sansa, and Jeyne. The point of the lance had snapped off in his neck. Jeyne began sobbing almost hysterically as she watched the pulses of blood come from the wound. Sansa sat with her hands still folded in her lap, staring in a strange fascination. She had never seen a man die before. She ought to be crying too but the tears would not come. It would be different if it had been Jory or Rodrik or her father. The young man was nothing to her, some stranger from the Vale of Arryn whose name she had forgotten as soon as she heard it. And now the world would forget his name too, which was what made Sansa sad. Robb had seen men die before and wasn't sickened by it any longer. However the wrongness of this death bothered him. There was no reason for it. He felt bad for him. | |
