Name: Jill Mastrano

Age: 14

Gender: female

Personality: Jill is a gawky, shy girl who is notorious for talking in long strings without taking a breath. She is incredibly innocent and pure of heart. She is determined, as she is among a small number of Moroi who want to learn how to fight, and loyal to her friends. Despite her innocent nature, she can be surprisingly mature for her age at times. Along with this maturity she is also shown to be wise beyond her years.

History: Jill was born and raised in Michigan when she wasn't at the academy by her mom and step dad. Most of her life was spent at the academy like most Moroi children though. Little does she know that her real father was Prince Eric Dragomir, making her the second surviving Dragomir and not an unimportant nonroyal like she thinks.

Jill pushed the rubble of what once was her house off of her. "Mom?" She cried out, squinting in the bright light. She wasn't sure how long she had been under there but it had to have been a while. "John?" She tried to stand up but her leg gave out. Somehow she hadn't noticed the pain. Her leg was bloody and she didn't want to see the wound that was responsible for it. She started searching through the debris on her hands and knees. She had to find her family.

Jill kept looking until her hands were torn to pieces and her skin was blistered and burnt from the sun. She had found her mother's body but not her step father's. She couldn't keep looking. Sobbing, she half limped half drug herself along until she found a place to get out of the sun. She cried herself to sleep.

Her battered body must have needed the rest as Jill slept for what felt like months. The first thing she did was gather some water to quench her thirst thanks to her newly specialized element. Then she managed to stand and hobble away in search of food or blood. She could survive for a little while with only one but it wouldn't be a good life. She struggled along for a while but like the klutz she was, managed to fall and painfully twist the ankle of the already injured leg. She cried on the ground over everything. Eventually she had to move again and barely made it to another shady spot. She didn't want to go on. She couldn't be alone. The normally bubbly girl went to sleep once again this time hoping she didn't wake up. She didn't want to starve to death and she had yet to see another living thing let alone a human to drink from. She didn't know why she was the one to survive but she didn't want to be.

Five had showed up after it had started. After burying his family and the strangers with them he started searching around the city more. He was searching around when he saw her. He paused, watching her sleep for a second. He went over. "Are you... alive?"

Jill weakly opened her eyes when she heard a voice. Wait. A voice? She sat up and felt pain. She was so hungry already. The need for blood was strong and she hated herself when her mouth started to water from the smell of the stranger. "I guess."

Five happened to be quite dehydrated already as well. He looked her over. "You are." He fell to a sit next to her. "Are you okay?"

Jill shook her head. "No. My family is dead and I can't find any food. I thought I was the only person left alive." To avoid looking at her pretty severely damaged body she studied him. "Are you thirsty? Cup your hands." She knew better than to use her powers in front of a human but what could it hurt at this point?

His hands almost immediately filled with water. Jill looked even more exhausted from the effort but did the same for herself. She took a drink before answering. "You don't have to do that."

Jill watched him. She didn't want to be mean so she ignored the comment about her being weak. She knew she wasn't the strongest person but he didn't have to point it out. "Want more?"

Jill nodded a little. She was glad he hadn't freaked out but was curious about that. Shouldn't humans be weirded out by magic? It wasn't common with them she didn't think.

Blood. Jill wanted to say. Food sounded good but it wouldn't keep her alive if she didn't get blood. She just didn't know how to get it. She wouldn't take it from him. That was wrong. But what person in their right mind would let her take it? "I don't care."
