It wasn't enough to free him from the compulsion but at least her attention was off of him for the time being. For a moment nothing happened. It was like she didn't recognize Klaus. But her impassive expression faded slightly. Inside her a battle waged for control. Some part of her didn't want to hurt the guardian, despite the blinding anger that otherwise filled her. Her face crumpled, and she squeezed her eyes shut. Her right hand reached out to her left wrist and clenched it, nails digging deep into the flesh. She flinched at the pain, but it distracted her from the guardian. She let go of the compulsion and the he sagged, looking out of it. | |
