"Surprised?" Clay asked. "You wanted to fight me, you got it." He swung, but in his haste didn't aim, and Clay didn't even need to duck to avoid it. He grabbed Stephan's arm, ripped it backward and heard the bone snap. Stephen howled in pain. Clay put my face to his. "What? Can't fight me with one arm? What about Jeremy? Care to test that boast now?" Stephan drove his good hand into Clay's stomach. The air whooshed from him and he stumbled back, but when Stephan brought his hand up again, Clay grabbed it and threw him over onto his back. Clay then took his left forearm between his hands, met his wild eyes, and broke the bone. While he screamed, Clay leaned down and whispered in his ear. "I could stop here. You're not fighting anyone with two busted arms so, really, I should just stop. But I'm not going to. And you know why? Because you wouldn't stop if it was me lying there. Sooner or later, it's gonna come down to this, and I'm not taking the chance that you'll go after Jeremy again in the meantime." | |

Clay grabbed a bag of frozen peas and gave it to Jeremy, whose lip was split and one eye was quickly swelling shut. "Is that it?" Jeremy nodded. "I'm fine. Are you both okay?" When clay nodded he sighed. "This shouldn't have happened. We're pack. We don't kill..." he looked at the bodies and looked sick. "No it shouldn't have." Clay agreed. "But you can fix it now that you're alpha." Jeremy shook his head. "I didn't win this way. I won't take power by killing the other side." "But-" clay said. "Did you say Andrew was still alive?" Jeremy asked. When Clay noddded, he continued, "good. Go get him in the car. We're going to talk to Malcolm." | |
