One afternoon Jeremy sent clay down to get Elena from the cage. He was trying to get her more tame and he thought it was working until he found out she managed to slam Clay's head into the metal bars of the cage and escape.

Elena ran like her life depended on it. And in her head it did. She had to get away and fix this curse running through her veins. There had to be a cure. If not... well she'd have to handle it. But she didn't want to think of that until she had to.

After some time, and paying her way in services she never wanted to think about again, she got back to school. She didn't know what else to do or where to go. She couldn't go to her family. Sam had been the one to do this to her and John didn't want her around. She'd have to handle this herself.

However, before she did that she needed to get a roof over her head and food in her belly. So she went back to her dorm and tried to get back to her normal life. It even went well. At least for a while. Unfortunately, no matter how much she ate she couldn't get full and it was quickly driving her mad until she got to the point where penny, her roommate, walked into the room and all Elena could think was "food."

This terrified the poor girl and she ran. She knew she couldn't be around people now. She was a risk. A big one. So she moved into the woods, and after a few changes and even more animal kills, to the city. She made an alleyway her territory and a cardboard box her home. It got her close enough to people to get used to them but kept her far enough to not be too much of a threat. Until her little home was invaded.

A man had been coming around more and more, trying to get her to come home with him so he could "take care of her." She finally snapped when he grabbed her arm. She tossed him across the alley and in her adrenaline haze, changed in front of him and then killed him. When she woke up, she saw his half eaten body and proceeded to puke.

She couldn't believe she did that. She killed and ATE a human. She was a monster. A real one. And she needed to die. Her panic caused her to change again. This time she killed another person for no reason. Not that she remembered doing it. She woke up next to a severed foot while she was covered in blood.

That was the final straw. Before she could change again, Elena started running. She didn't stop until she got to the roof of the tallest building she could get to. Tears rolled down her face as she looked at the street below. She couldn't do it. She knew she had to die but she couldn't do it herself. With a loud sob, she stumbled away from the ledge and went to find a phone. Numbly, she called Dean. He would fix this. One way or another.
