Marie needed to find someone to take in her daughter. But who? She wasn't sure how far the rumors had spread about her behavior but she feared it would be too far. Yes Mary was a royal but a wild spirited one. How many of the nobles would put up with that? She hoped one but she feared the worst so she'd write to other nations. But that left even more questions, namely, which ones. California was out. They had a rough relationship to say the least. Texas? They wouldn't go for it. Those dull rangers were content to stay out of everyone else's affairs. There were the random clans but could she send her daughter to those barbarians? At least she'd be alive. "I'm sorry."
