Lucia got off stage and went to change out of her sweat soaked dress. She loved being up on stage but could do without the overpowering heat of the lights. As she made her way through the people, she hoped to see Evan in the crowd. As she went farther and farther without seeing him it turned to the hope that he had even stuck around. Maybe he hadn't liked her band and had left. That thought hurt. She wanted to impress him, not that she would admit it. It was one of those damn wolf instincts she tried to suppress. The one that had her longing for partner, a mate. She had tried to date human guys but she always felt a detachment to them because of her secret. How could she get close to someone when she had to lie to them so much? She knew she had to be with another werewolf but until Evan came around choices were slim. There was Sam, the guy who had ruined her life and made her into a monster, or the crazy Clayton who was more wolf than person. Nick was okay but had little desire for a relationship. She wouldn't even consider any of the santos boys so she was stuck until Evan showed up. Now her instincts were in overdrive, telling her to make a move before someone else did. She hated listening to them. She was a person and not a wolf after all. She didn't want to chase after a guy she barely knew like a bitch in heat but that was pretty much what she was doing whether she admitted it or not. | |
