"Fuck." Vane snapped when Jack told him how the ship was fairing. They had thought it had gotten out of that last fight relatively unscathed but the farther they went the worse the damage got. He scanned map for a safe place to stop to repair it but there was nothing to speak of. He already knew that but he had still felt the need to look. "Fuck!" He repeated. They'd have to stop at that little speck of an island, try to repair it as best they could, and hope the Ranger made it back to Nassau.
They got the large ship as close to the island as they would dare and proceeded to row the boats to shore to check it out. Vane wasn't afraid of anything that could be there. They could handle it. But it was better to scout it before beginning work. He jumped out of the little boat and looked around the beach. Jack and Anne soon joined him. "Do you think this is wise? There's no telling who is here." Jack said. | |
