Clay looked over at Sam as if just noticing him. But at the same time not really seeing him. His rage was in too much control of his body. He vaguely thought that he should say something to Sam but that was too difficult at the moment. Santos was expecting anger from her because of how he was speaking to her but didn't think she would be that angry. He didn't want to hurt her. That was not going to help him in any way. He tried to block her attacks and when he got an opening, attempted to grab her throat

Sam felt that Clay was looking at him and looked up. He wanted to say something but didn't know what he could say that was honest but wouldn't upset him anymore. Ruby froze when he got a good grip on her throat. She went from trying to hurt him to trying to get away from him. She didn't know that he wasn't going to kill her.

Clay seemed to calm down a little knowing that a pack member was nearby. It didn't help his pain go away, nothing ever would, but maybe they could figure a way out of this. Or he could tell Sam his last messages. If they didn't get out, Santos was going to kill him. "You okay?" Santos pushed her down against a table that was near them and held her there. "Okay, let me spell things out for you." He stated slowly, as if she was stupid. Not that he thought that she was intelligent. She was only a female after all. They were naturally lesser than men in everything. "There are two ways this can end for you. You can submit to me, be a good girl like I'm sure you want to be, and be treated well." It was a female's nature to want to be good and obedient for her mate, and that's what they would soon be. She just didn't know it yet because her old pack taught her to act against what her body told her to do. "Or you can act like a bitch and get treated like a bitch."

Sam nodded. "Yeah." He sighed a little. If he did get killed... well at least he could see Jess again. He still missed her every day. He looked down. "How are you doing?" Ruby tried to stand up again. She whimpered when she couldn't and started struggling. She didn't pay much attention to what he was saying. Ruby growled softly. "I will never submitt to you. You are not my alpha."

Clay made a noise in the back of his throat. A polite way of saying drop it. He wasn't okay. He wouldn't ever be again. But he didn't want to admit that. "If I don't get out of here, you gotta take care of Elena. Jeremy is... Jeremy was really important to her. She'll need someone to be there for her." Santos pressed down on her neck. She should still be able to breathe, but would have trouble with it. "I AM your alpha, bitch." He snarled at her. How dare she act like this to him? "And you will submit or if you don't, I have no use for you."

Sam watched him sadly. "I don't know if I'm making it either. Not for long at least." He looked down, thinking. "I'm sure we'll both get out though. We'll be okay. Somehow." Ruby whimpered a little, trying to get her throat more comfortable. When she wasn't able to she calmed down again. She waited for him to let her up. While she would never be loyal to him, there wasn't any harm in making him think that she was... Right?

"You have a hell of a lot better chance getting out of here than I do. Santos isn't going to let me walk out of here." Clay told him. He wasn't stupid. That's not to say he wasn't going to try to escape. He didn't want to die but he knew the chances of getting out. "Are you going to behave?" Santos demanded. He wanted to hear her say that she would. It made him feel like he was more in power, even if he figured she was lying.

Sam nodded, looking around. "Well then let's figure out a way to get you out of here." He didnt want to see his friend did. Especially not this soon after Jeremy. "Yes!" Ruby choked out, waiting. She might be able to breathe, but that didn't mean it was easy to. She would honestly do anything to get him to let her up right now.

Clay nodded. Well duh. That's what he was trying to do. But it wasn't going well so far. He couldn't even break these damned ropes. The mutt knew what he was doing. Santos didn't let her up but did allow her to breathe a little easier. Yes wasn't good enough of an answer for him. He was drunk with power. "Not good enough. I want you to say it. 'I will behave.'"

Sam started working on getting up himself. Maybe if he got free he would be able to get Clay free too. He even tried standing up with the chair figuring that maybe he could break it. Ruby didn't like this. She knew that it was just boosting his ego. But at least maybe he'd let her be free. Then she could finish what she had started earlier. "I'll behave." She said, adding a pitiful whimper to it. That of course was just for show.

Clay watched him. It's not like he could do anything else. When Sam stood up he cast a nervous glance upstairs, worried someone would hear and stop them. Santos smiled when she told him what he wanted to hear. She might not think that here was anything wrong with saying it, but in his mind that was her already on the road to obeying him. She might not mean it, but she was still listening. Plus it boosted his ego. "Good girl." He condescendingly said as he let her up.

Sam tried to hit the chair against things to break it. He tried to be as quiet as possible but it was a little hard with what he was doing. He trusted Clay to say if somebody was coming though. Ruby practically jumped up when she was allowed to. She moved a little away from him, growled grumpily, and tried to bolt. She wasn't sure how well that would work but it was certainly worth a try.

Clay was listening for movement by the door. It was a little hard to hear over Sam but he tried. For now there was nothing. They were too concerned with what Santos and Ruby were doing. Santos motioned for the wolf who had been holding her to grab her again when she tried to bolt. "No growling." Santos told her. Not like it would help.

Sam continued to work. Every couple tried he would glance at the door then at Clay to make sure it was okay and they were safe. He didnt know if they could hear or not. Ruby snarled at the wolf. She tried to punch him and tried to pull away from him. She figured maybe his grip wasnt as great yet. She was sadly wrong though.

"Take the girls upstairs. Put them in a bedroom for now." Santos told his followers. He didn't know what he was going to do with everyone. They would be allowed to walk around free until he could trust them. "Put the guys in other bedrooms." He headed to the basement door. "Someone's coming." Clay said to Sam when he heard Santos coming.

Ruby growled at the mutt holding her. How dare he confine her like this! She might be able to try to be halfway decent towards Santos but she never agreed to the mutts. That was just a little too much for her to deal with. Sam nodded. He stopped fighting and tried to get back to where he was before Santos got down. He tried to look innocent.

The mutts did what they were told and took everyone upstairs. The girls were put in one bedroom. Nick, Jorge, and Joey in another. Morgan, Noah, and Reese were put in a different one. Some of the mutts then stood guard while others went to do other things. Santos went downstairs. He didn't notice that Sam was not exactly where he had been placed since he hadn't been down there when he had been tied up. He pretty much ignored Sam as he made his way over to the cage. "Where are all your tools?"

Ruby tried to bolt out when they let her go but was sadly too slow to make it. She had the door slammed in her face and she growled grumpily. Sam growled. He stayed still but didn't look happy. "Why do you need them?"

Elena went over to the window. She could jump out of it no problem, but if she tried to open it the mutts would probably hear it. Smashing it to get a piece of glass for a weapon was out too. She didn't know how many mutts were in the hall, but she knew it was too many to take on. For now they were stuck. Santos glanced over at Sam. He didn't have to answer. He probably shouldn't. But he wanted to taunt clay so he did. "I want some of the things he's used over the years to torture mutts."

Emily still refused to move, visibly shaking. The poor girl looked absolutely terrified. She couldn't believe he would just kill Jeremy like that. She wanted to be with the rest of her pack. Sam watched him, understanding. Of course there was no way that he would ever tell him now.
