Elena smiled. "Sounds like a plan." She started walking the way he had suggested. She hoped they found something to do but honestly had no idea what something to do was. She just wanted some excitement. "You can say something awful about my family if you want. My birth family, I mean. You couldn't find anything wrong with the guy who adopted me to say something bad." Clay said. Even though he was a teenager, he still worshipped Jeremy. He was his idol. "Emily's still on the table though."

Sam kept walking. "So do you have anything in mind?" This would be quite a bit easier if she did have a idea for them. If she didn't have an idea they could just wing it. Ruby smiled. "No, I couldn't do that." That's when what he said seemed to sink in. "Wait, youre adopted? What happened? Are you orphaned too?"

"Nope. I figured we might happen upon something." Elena said. She walked beside him and looked around, as if something intriguing would just pop up. "It's a long story." Clay said, trying to bsckpedel. He hadn't meant to say that. "Jeremy took me in after my parents..." He paused, thinking of how to describe them. "My parents were fucking terrible. Jeremy adopted me and Emily."

Sam grinned as he watched the way she was looking around. "I don't think anything will just show up." He looked around too, however. "And if anything does I'll give you a dollar." Ruby nods, looking interested in the story. She could however tell that he didn't want to talk about it. "You don't have to tell me." When he cussed, she gave him a look. "You shouldn't use that language."

Elena laughed when he guessed what she had been looking around for. "I didn't think... Fine. I'll get that dollar. You mark my words." She looked around again for anything. Clay rolled his eyes. He tended to swear. It wasn't a huge problem, to him at least, but some people took offense to it. The idea of bad words didn't make sense to him. Poop was okay but shit wasn't. They were words like any other words. "My story isn't all that interesting."

Sam laughed at her, but it was more of a joking laugh. "Uh-huh. Sure you will. It's a bet." He looked around too, waiting for her to give up. "If nothing does I get a dollar." He said with a small smirk. This was going to be fun. Ruby shrugs. "It is to me. Is that why you're so... Different from everybody else?" It wasn't that it offended her, not at all. Her granny could make a sailor sound like he was as innocent as a baby. But her granny always got upset when she swore. While she said it was unlady like, she had also said it wasn't right for a young adult to be filling their vocabulary with such nonsense.

"You aren't going to be smirking when you're handing over that dollar." Elena said, glancing over to give him a smile before going back to searching for something to do. "Different? I'm different than other people?" Clay asked, his face serious only for a moment before he laughed. "Maybe. I've never really thought about it all that much. I'm just me. Doesn't matter how I got to be that way." He said. After a moment, he continued. "My real parents were never a big part of my life. Even when I was with them."

"No, but you believed I was, didn't you?" Elena asked with a laugh. She continued to look around but still saw nothing. But she wasn't going to admit he was right. "It really doesn't matter. For all I care, they could be dead." Clay stated. Was it harsh? Yes. Was that something he should say? No. Probably not. It wasn't what a normal person would say. He didn't care what she thought of him, though.

Sam watched her with a smile. "I guess so." He responded, going back to looking around as well. This was the easiest dollar he ever won. There was no way she could pull this off. Ruby nodded a little. She assumed that he didn't really mean that and that he was just mad. She didn't really know how to respond to that, however, so she just stayed quiet. Granny showed up at Stonehaven that day when Ruby was at school. She had noticed how bad Ruby's dreams were getting and knew that every time Ruby changed she was just a little more dangerous. Ruby had killed before, and it wasn't long before she would again. Granny had done everything she could to help, but knew that it was no use. So, she started searching for the pack. It was pretty easy to find them when she knew what she was searching for. Some hunters had seen large prints around the border of this lot, and had gladly told her in exchange for some baked goods. She figured it had to be the other wolves, so she googled the lot, found the owner, Googled him, decided that it sounded rigjt, and drove out there. Now hopefully the next part would be just as easy.

Elena made a face. Nothing was going to happen. She knew that. She had just been hopeful that it would. She wasn't upset about her lost dollar. It was the fact that she was going to lose. "Can we talk about something else?" Clay asked. He was getting upset at the thought of his past family and he didn't want it to make his already pissy mood lately even worse. "They aren't worth the time." Jeremy was home alone while the kids were at school. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, but he enjoyed his time by himself. He loved clay and Emily. Loved them more than he could ever imagine. But a break from teenage hormones wasn't the worse thing that could happen. He was in the backyard practicing archery when granny arrived. He curiously went around the side of the house as she was pulling up. He rested the bow against the house and went over to her. "Afternoon. Can I help you with something?"

Sam smirked. "Well it looks like I'll be making some money today." He looked super happy that he won. Heck, he might give her that money back af5er all of this. He didnt need that extra money do why not? Ruby nods. "Ueah, no problem. What do you want to talk about? I'm okay with j7st about anything." She responded with a warm smile. She already liked this one. She was going to do her best not to lose his friendship too. Beverley got out of the car. She looked around, making sure he didn't notice her sniffing the air. She knew she was in the right place almost imediently from the smell. "I need some help with my granddaughter, Ruby." She started, pausing for just a second. She started talking again before he could deny. "She just turned 15. She's just about the nicest girl you could ever meet, except for one thing. She happens to have gotten the curse of the wolf and when she changes she forgets who she is and is down right dangerous. I've done everything I can to prevent her from changing and to protect her, but nothing seems to be working."

Elena gave an over exaggerated sigh and pulled her wallet out of her pocket. She gave him a dollar. "Here." Clay shrugged. "I don't care." He wasn't normally that big of a talker. He spoke now, but preferred to listen if it was an option. Which is why he and Nick were such good friends. "What do you like to do?" Jeremy opened his mouth to speak when she paused at first but didn't get enough time before she continued. Once she was done, he simply asked "Curse of the wolf?" He didn't deny knowing about werewolves nor did he admit to anything. He vaguely wondered why she had come to him, and how she had found him, but that could wait.

Sam smirked as he took it. "Thank you, ma'am. Your money is much appreciated." He made sure to keep it in full view of her as he slid it into his pocket. Ruby shrugs. "I like to swim when I can. I really love walking through the woods and exploring. I like to sled in the winter. Other than that, I don't have much free time. I work for my grandmother where I deliver her naked goods to people in the town." Beverley glared the slightest bit. She didn't have time for this. "Don't play dumb with me, boy. I could smell you and your kids a mile away." She said with a clear growl in her voice.

Elena stuck her tongue out at him. She was ever so mature. "Come on. You can buy me a soda since you're so rich now." Clay smiled. Wow. He hadn't really met many people, especially girls, who had similar interests as him. Other than the baking, of course. He cooked quite often, a skill he needed at home since Jeremy still had no cooking skills of his own, but never really baked. "I love being outside in the woods. I live on a big propriety covered in forests. We have a nice pond to swim in and acres and acres to explore." "What is it you expect me to do?" Jeremy asked, his voice remaining calm even when he saw the glare. He didn't care all that much about it. She wasn't a threat to him so he didn't need to worry.

Sam laughed when she did that. "Really? That's the best you can think of?" When she spoke about the soda, he made a face to show he was thinking. "Nah. Maybe a candy bar. That way we both can get one." Ruby smiled, her eyes seeming to light up when he described his house. That would be a dream come true! Sure, she lived near the woods, but she wasn't in them and she certainty didn't have a lot of land or her own pond. "That sounds amazing! I wish I lived in a house like that. I have a lot of dried grass, my house, and a chicken coop." Beverley sighed. She was talking to a brick wall. "I expect you to help me save my granddaughter. If she gets worse the hunters will end up catching her."

"No. It just felt right. Would you rather me say something? Because I doubt you'd like it very much." Elena stated. She smiled when he offered the candy bar instead of a soda. "Works for me." "You should come over some time." Clay said. He paused when he realized what he had just said. Shit. His weird mood must have grown to insanity. Why would he ever invite someone to come into his territory? Jeremy was going to freak. Not that he had rules against bring people over. He would probably just have a heart attack simply because clay had the closest thing to a friend he had ever had, outside the pack at least. "I'm sorry but there isn't anything I can do without permission from Dominic- my alpha. You need to speak to him." Jeremy said. That wasn't necessarily true. If it was to hide the existence of werewolves he could do pretty much anything. But he didn't know what to do for her. He had never heard of someone not remembering what happened to them while on a run.

Sam laughed again. "Uh-huh. Sure. I think you just couldn't come up with something good in that moment." He joked, knowing full well that she could have if she wanted too. He then looked around. "Okay, let's find a store or gas station or something then." Ruby got this big smile on her face until he paused. She could tell that something was wrong, probably that he didn't really want her over. She thought about how she could get out of it for him. "My granny wouldn't like me coming over." Well, that really wasn't a lie. Her granny never let her do anything if it meant being out of her sight or with friends. Beverley sighed. "Okay." She turned around and went back to her car, getting in.

Elena laughed. "Oh you know that I always have a comeback at the ready. I've lived with you guys too long to not." She started walking when he said to find a store. She didn't know for sure if there was one nearby, but figured there had to be one in the general area. "What she doesn't know won't hurt her." Clay said. He didn't know that she had noticed his hesitation. He thought that her grandma really just didn't want her going anywhere. "Wait." Jeremy called, following her to her car. "I can call him now if you wish."

Sam smirked, starting to walk again with her. "That's very true. I guess you kinda have to." He looked around for anywhere that he could but them the treat. Ruby shrugs a little, awkwardly looking down when she thought. "Do you really want me there? You didnt seem so thrilled after you asked me to come over." She asked, looking up at him again. Beverley looked over at him. She shook her head. "No. I don't want anybody else knowing about her. I'll get her back under control."
