"I don't know why he wouldn't think that I would want to go." Elena said. She kept playing the game. "It's not like I don't want anything to do with it. Whenever he asks me to research anything I do it... Maybe he thinks I'm not good enough..."

Clay shrugged a shoulder again. "I don't know. Maybe. She doesn't act like that at home though. It's just like she wants everyone to know that she's better than me here." He noticed that he was still talking to Ruby and thought it was weird. Normally he would brush someone off when they tried to talk to him. But he didn't find her aggravating or bothersome like most people.

Sam nods a little. He continued to play the game with her as well. "I really don't know what to say. Dad obviously has his favorite. There's no telling why he does the things he does. I don't think it's anything to do with you, Elena." And that was the truth.

Ruby watched him. She was getting a lot more comfortable around him too. Normally she would have slunk away and hid again. He was actually being pretty nice to her though. And he smelled... good. Different than most people. So did Emily. "I'm sorry she's mean to you. I don't know why she changes that much when she gets here."

"I guess I should be happy that I'm here. Who knows what my life could be like if you guys wouldn't have taken me in." Elena said. Her life was pretty good compared to what it couldn't have been.

"I don't know either, but it doesn't matter. I don't need her or her snotty friends." Clay said. He hated the people Emily hung around with. Well... More than he hated most humans.

Elena smiled and took her turn once again. "Me too." While she was happy with the Winchesters, she could help wondering what her parents had been like. She didn't remember them. Not really. But maybe that was better. There wasn't much to miss when you couldn't remember them.

"I have friends. They're just not here." Clay replied. He wiped off his face again, trying to get rid of the little amount of blood that remained. Once it was off, he could smell a little better since it wasn't blocking his nose. That's when he caught the first whiff of the scent of a werewolf. But not the musky gross smell of a unknown male werewolf but the smell of Emily, but different. He tilted his head to the side and looked at Ruby.

Sam didn't really think of that anymore. She was here and that's what mattered. Hhe wished it could have been under different circumstances, though. He might not know his mom but he still missed her. He again took his turn.

Ruby nods. "Good. It's not fun being alone." When he gave her that look, she grinned. "What? Is something wrong?" She had no clue why he gave her that look.

Elena took her turn once he was done. She tried to get her mind off the thoughts of her long dead parents.

Clay shook his head. There was no way she was a werewolf. Emily was a miracle. Female werewolves were too rare to have two in the school. Maybe that guy had hit his nose harder than he thought. Yeah. That had to be it. "Nothing. I was just... thinking. I'm Clay by the way."

Sam finished the game with her winning. He smiled at her. "Good game, Elena."

Ruby smiled a little. She wanted to ask what he was thinking, but her granny made it very clear to get that she didn't always have to know what others were thinking. So, she didn't ask. "I'm Ruby, but my friends call me Red."

Elena smiled. She wouldn't say she liked to win, she wasn't all that competitive, but it was still nice. "You too."

"Nice to meet you." Clay said, shocked as he realized that he wasn't lying like he normally was when he said that. He felt okay being with Ruby and talking to her. Like he did when talking with a pack member.

Sam smiled at her. "Thank you." He replied. He didnt care if he won or lost. He had fun and that's what counts.

Ruby smiled at him. "It's nice to meet you too, Clay." She responded. She had this innocent feel about her still. You could almost tell that she wanted to just running and play all day. "Have you been to the lake in the woods? There's a big stone hanging over it."

"Now what do you want to do?" Elena asked. The game was fun but she wanted to do something else.

Clay shook his head. "I haven't been there. I normally stick to the woods around my house." He sometimes was pretty innocent as well. Not with violence or anything. He knew more about violence and death than most adults. But other things, like sex and desire, were foreign concepts to him. Even though he was 15, he had no feelings toward females. Of course he feigned interest while talking to Nick so he didn't seem weird. But anything to do with dating or women in general was something he knew nothing about.

Sam shrugged a shoulder. "You come up with something now. I came up with the game." He was getting bored of this game now too. He didnt want to choose something she didn't like.

Ruby nods. "You should find it sometime. It's a really cool place and the water is always perfect for swimming. It's far enough from town that nobody bothers you but close enough that if the wolves come you have a chance to get away." She wrinkled her nose again when she talked about the wolves. Her grannys fear had been starting to rub off on her.

Sam nods. "Yeah, that works." He smiled, putting the game away. He grabbed his shoes.

Ruby shrugs. "The wolves killed my parents. They killed all 6 of my grannys brothers. They killed most of our livestock and a couple of my friends." She sighed softly. Thats when she noticed he looked hurt. "Oh... im sorry. Im sure not all wolves are like that. Just the weirdly big ones."

Elena helped him put all the pieces away. She then put her shoes on and grabbed the knife that she normally carried. John would have probably given her a gun if she asked, but she didn't want one. Not for day to day protection.

Clay watched her for a moment, not saying anything. Weirdly big wolves? Around here? That could only be the pack. But they wouldn't kill humans. Especially not that many humans... Okay. Malcolm might. But it sounded like multiple wolves. He realized that he should be saying something. "I'm... Sorry."

Sam also grabbed his sweater. He looked at her. "Ready to go?" He looked around the house. He had grabbed everything he needed for just a little walk in town. The town was safe... right?

Ruby shrugs a little. "It was a long time ago. I never even met my great uncles. Everybody says my parents ran off together, but I know that they wouldn't do that." She looked down. "Or, at least, I don't think they would."

Elena nodded. "Yeah. I'm ready." She didn't look concerned about leaving. Maybe she should, but she figured that they could handle any person that might mess with them and there wasn't much of a chance of anything not human trying to hurt them. Their dad wouldn't have left them alone if there was danger.

"There's no telling what some people will do." Clay stated. He didn't like to sugar cost things and often said what popped into his head. That meant he said things that he probably shouldn't a lot of the time. When he realized that wasn't right, he added, "But you know your folks better than me. If you think they didn't run off, they probably didn't."

Sam walked out. He glanced around a little before picking a direction and starting to walk that way. He stayed by Elenas side. "So where do you want to go?"

Ruby looked a little hurt. She shrugged a shoulder, looking down awkwardly. She didn't really know what to say now. Her hand traveled to her neck, and she grasped a small gold cross that she wore. It was the only thing she had of her mother now.

Sam nodded. He didnt really know where anything was either, but he was going to act like he did. "Well let's go this way. We're bound to stumble across something that we find exciting." A little part of him wondered if John would even be okay with them wandering around town.

Ruby shrugs a little, not looking up. "It's alright, I guess. I've said worse than that to people before." She looked up, trying to look like her cheery self again. She was far to young to have gotten into much trouble when they had disappeared so there wasn't a reason that they wouldn't want her coming along.
