Elena looked over at Sam. She smiled. Clay knew he couldn't take all if them. He was strong, but not that strong. But he wasn't about to let them beat him up. So he lunged at the guy in front of him, the quarterback, and took him down. His success didn't last long though as one of the other guys grabbed him and yanked clay to his feet. | |

Sam smiled. "Do you want to do something? We could play a game." He suggested. There wasn't really anything better to do and he was bored. Emily was still with her friends, watching people walk by. Ruby on the other hand was trying to stay off on her own until the next class started. She had a few coins left over from her tips from work. She was trying to save up to run away from her home. While most people in the school had new clothes and shoes, she was making due with an old dress and boots. | |

The more he struggled and fought back the angrier they were getting and the harder they were hitting. Clay would be able to win a fight against any one of these guys. Maybe two. But not all of them. He was batter and bruised already and blood streamed from his nose and lip. | |

Sam nods, thinking. Emily watched. She knew she should try to help, but that didn't sound like it would help her reputation any. So, she just watched them. Ruby was walking by when she noticed the fight. She cautiously went over. "Knock it off. You're going to really hurt him!" | |

Elena watched him, waiting to hear whatever he came up with. One of the guys turned and looked at Ruby. He didn't seem concerned about her. "Mind your own business." He snapped before turning back toward clay. That distraction was all clay needed though. He lunged and knocked the guy down, then ran off. He hated running away but he would rather escape with a bruised ego than get hurt too badly. He had to protect Jeremy and Emily, and he could do that if he was injured, although Emily hadn't helped him. He smelled her in the crowd, watching him get beaten up. | |

Sam gave her a idea. Emily sighed. Shed have to check on him after school. It could have been a lot worse for him. She walked away with the rest of the crowd. Ruby started to follow Clay. She unknowingly tracked the smell of his blood. Once she managed to find him, she went over, not making euef contact. She looked nervous. "Are you okay?" | |

Elena nodded in agreement. "Sounds good." Clay looked over at her. He was standing at his locker, where he kept a first aid kit thanks to Jeremy, trying to figure out how bad his wounds where. Thanks to his bloody nose, he couldn't smell that she wasn't human, so he figured she was like everyone else here. Human. Not someone he really wanted to deal with. Especially right now. He struggled to put butterfly stitches on a a cut on his forehead. "It's not too bad. I've had worse." | |

Sam smiled. He went to get it. Ruby nods a little, watching him. When she noticed he was struggling, she went over closer. "Here, I've stitched up chickens before. Im sure you won't be a problem." She held out a hand to take the needle. She still wasn't really looking him in the eye, but did seem interested. "And clean up the blood. It's a terrible smell." She said, wrinkling her nose. | |

Elena cleaned off a place so they could have room to play. Clay hesitated, not wanting the contact of someone working on him, but handed it to her. He then wiped his face off the best he could, which got the majority of the blood off. | |

Elena smiled and said a quick "thanks" before taking her turn. She finished and waited for him to go. Clay shrugged a shoulder and winced from the movement. "Don't know. Most people keep their distance from me." Even though he had lived in New York for the majority of his life, he still spoke with a heavy Louisiana accent, which got him made fun of quite often. Even though he was highly intelligent, people mocked him for being stupid because of how he spoke. | |

She wasn't going to push him. She looked down for a minute. After a second She looked back up. "Why doesn't your sister like me?" | |

Sam shrugs a little. He awkwardly turned his attention back to the game. "I don't know what to tell you." He thinks about that for a couple seconds. "Maybe you should ask to come with? Maybe he just doesn't know that you want to go with." Ruby went quiet, thinking that over. "Well you guys are siblings. Aren't sibling rivalries quite common?" That was about the best she could think up. She heard the growled but didn't think much of it. She growled too sometimes so it must be normal. | |
