Jeremy went over to the playground. He sat on a bench as he tried to avoid being near other people. He may teach clay the importance of being civil to humans, but he didn't want to be around them much more than clay did. Clay looked like he was in hell as he scanned the crowd of squealing, happy children running around. | |

Clay retreated to an empty swing set. He sat motionlessly on one of the swings, watching everyone. He could do this. He could put up with these little monsters to make Jeremy happy. | |

If anyone went to swing, clay would growl at them. He could tolerate being here, but not someone interacting with him or being that close. Jeremy watched Emily and clay. He felt bad for Emily. He knew that he wasn't the right place for the little girl. He was trying his best to care for her but was failing her rather miserably. | |
