Jake walked away from everyone. He wanted to be alone, but part of him wanted Beth to come comfort him like she always did. Trevor hesitated. He wanted to get out and fight, but he didn't want to die to do either of those things. | |

Jake buried his face into the crook of her neck. He seemed to be doing this a lot lately. He needed her now more than ever with everything that had been going on. He was still struggling with his mental state from being alone for so long after the fall of the prison. Being the governors prisoner hadn't helped that any. Now add watching someone die so brutally? He was in trouble. Trevor heard the click of the lock and sighed. He couldn't force that door open. He'd have to wait until someone opened it again. Damn that burnt face asshole. He was going to kill him. Then he was going after Negan. He couldn't get away with this or talking to Maggie like that. | |

One day when they both would not quiet down, I went to put Luke down for a nap." She paused, obviously carrying a lot of guilt. "When I came back for her, there was blood everywhere. I actually even found her arm, and these." She pulled a piece of her blanket and a empty bullet out of her pocket. She offered it to him, shaking. "Before I really had a chance to go looking or do anything, the governor found me. I just had to grab Luke and go." She looked down. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect her. I'm sorry I wasn't good enough. I'm sorry I got her killed." | |
