The pack and the Hale's had an uneasy truce: just don't mess with each other. They lived in the same territory, although the hales were at the very edge, but Jeremy allowed them to stay because they were good fighters. If anything really bad ever happened, he could call them for help. All he had to do was turn a blind eye.
