Judith still seemed irritated, but did back up. She stayed quiet, watching them. Beth nods, smiling. The chick peeped like he was killing her for a few seconds, but calmed down quickly. It wasn't long before her eyes closed and her head slowly dropped down, resting on his hand. The chick slept, warm and comfortable. Carl nods. "I can at least try asking.
