Jake looked at them for a moment. "Shit." He jumped up on the counter, and fought them from up there. The door was open, so he could just walk in. Mary and the girls were in there. Mary was doing her best to calm them down. "We have faced worse than this. Remember when those men broke into our home?" Mary said. "What they did to us. We survived that. We can and will survive this, too." Sterling was the only one who noticed daryl outside the room. He wagged his tail. | |
